Context
Coorg is a biodiversity hotspot in South India, and the birth place of River Cauvery, which provides water for the majority of states across the South of India. The area is known for its diverse landscape with high-altitude mountains, wetlands, paddy fields, dense rainforests, wildlife sanctuaries, and coffee plantations. Coffee, introduced to Coorg in the late 17th century, is now the dominant crop responsible for the region’s economic growth. Ensuring (agri)cultural practices and waterbodies are cared for together, is critical for our collective future.
